Choosing a Baby Shower Centerpiece

If you have a responsibility for organising a baby shower, then making everything "just so" for the mum-to-be is going to be important for you. As with any type of party celebration, providing some extra decoration for the baby shower can make the occasion seem special. Add a touch of distinction with a beautiful centerpiece for the table display, and mum-to-be will be glowing like a bride-to-be again.
As with any decoration, what you use as a centerpiece is only limited by your imagination, budget and your own abilities (or those of a friend) in making an attractive display. The shower, of course, is for mum's, rather than baby's, enjoyment. However, as with the gifts themselves, there is no reason why you could not come up with a centerpiece which mum will enjoy on the day, and at least part of which baby may enjoy later.
Baby is, of course, the main theme of the shower, so it is nice to reflect that fact in the centerpiece. However, you may choose a sub theme, such as one based on colours, Disney, Winnie the Pooh, flowers or Beanie Babies. Whichever, it is quite easy to incorporate both main and sub themes into the centerpiece arrangement.
Flowers and balloons are always a good bet to feature in a party display of any type. and there are many ways of using either of those in your centerpiece. What you will need, of course, is something to attach them to. That's where your sub theme may come in, and a toy Winnie the Pooh for example (is there a real one?) would make a cute anchor for a flower or balloon display, even both.Okay, so Winnie the Pooh or an alternative are not very personal, but if you add in a nice photograph of the happy parents-to-be, in a small and unusual frame, then you can have a simple, inexpensive centerpiece which has included a memento for the baby and one for Mum and Dad too.
There are many variations of what you can do, and it is worth sounding out other guests well in advance to do some brainstorming to come up with something a little bit different. You'll usually find, in any small group of people, someone with a good imagination and craft talent. Remember, the baby will be totally unique, so it is a great gesture to come up with a unique centerpiece for the baby shower display.
